The Punisher (2017) Review

The Punisher (2017) starring Jon Bernthal. Created by Steve Lightfoot.

Netflix and Marvel are the perfect ingredients for stellar binge worthy television. We’ve seen with the success of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Defenders. Here comes The Punisher. Frank Castle we’ve seen before in a supporting role in Season 2 of Daredevil. The character was such a fan favorite that they had to greenlight a series for the famed vigilante.

Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) is a war veteran on a blood thirsty revenge mission to kill everyone involved with the murder of his wife and two kids. After the events of Daredevil Season 2 and months have gone by, Frank is undercover working in a construction site,  until a mysterious man begins to blackmail him. A man known as Micro. Little does Frank know, Micro would become the ONLY person that could help Frank take down the rest of the men involved in his family’s murder.

First things first, I wasn’t really looking forward to this series, with the sloppy promotion that went along with it, I was turned off. So, I completed all thirteen episodes and I was completely wrong. The show is incredible, and one of the best Marvel Netflix shows. To me, the show is better watched in parts. Watch three episodes, take a break for the few days, then watch the rest. The drama and action is great separated. The show is in your face for every episode. No slowing down. I really do hope the show gets greenlighted for a Season 2 or that Frank Castle shows up in another Netflix Marvel show. He is too rich of a character that can really be developed a lot more than they already have. There is no stopping The Punisher anytime soon!

My Review: 9/10 Skull & Crossbones – Watch The Punisher here.

I’m only four episodes in so far, but I’m loving it. Very intense.
